Nancy Schier Anzelmo and Paula Hertel give us a behind-the-scenes look at the preparation and research it took to launch their nonprofit, Connected Horse. “We both own horses,” Hertel says. “We researched the benefits of equine-assisted activities in other populations and saw similarities in the needs of people living with dementia and their care partners.”
